"Doctors and needles and shots... OH MY!"

*waiting on shots*
HattieJo had her 2month dr. appointment today. She did great. Here are her stats:
Weight: 11lbs. 10.5oz. (75%)
Height: 23inches (75%)
Head: 40cm. (75%)

She took the first shot like a champ, the 2nd and 3rd... She SCREAMED a scream we have never heard, but after it was over, she calmed down so quick you would have never known they had poked her.
The dr. came in and did all they had to do and said, and i quote, "man, she could be a poster child for breastfed babies..she is beautiful and healthy.." Yeah that's my girl!
*cute bandaid they put on her:

:::Lips:::

..Have to brag a little...Are these not the MOST BEAUTIFUL lips ever!!! AHHH... totally kissable... and PERFECTLY shaped. When she was born they were cleaning her up and one of the nurses said, "she has great lips, people pay good money to have lips like that."
(my sister in law- who is great at taking pictures- took this!)

::2 months old::

HattieJo,
I can't believe that you are already 2months old! You have grown so much within the past month its crazy. You finally have chunky legs and cheeks that I could eat up! You are cooing and making all kinds of noises. You are looking around all the time and even lifting your head. You will follow people by turing your head and following them with your eyes. You are enjoying your tummy time more and more and you even LOVE your swing now! You have the SWEETEST smile EVER... you smile when we talk to you and then just randomly at times... it melts our hearts!! We are so proud to call you ours. You are such a blessing from the Lord and we are grateful for that. We never knew we could ever love something as much as we love you!

Happy 2months!
Love you so much,
Mommy and Daddy

Trip to Florida Part 3

On Sunday Andrew had the opportunity to preach at this parents best friends church. He brought the Word and did a great job as usual. Then we all went out to lunch. After lunch we relaxed for a little while then started getting things ready for friends to come over for a "weinee roast" and bonfire. Then we hit the road about 9pm to start the trek home. We had a great time in Florida, it was a whirlwind, but a great time with family and friends.

Trip to Florida Part 2

On Friday when we arrived Andrew's mom asked me where to put the pack n play for HattieJo and I said in Andrew's room of course with us (thinking she meant we should put her in the extra bedroom)..but her plan was for HattieJo to spend the nights in their bedroom, so that is what she did! It was so sweet of her to do that so that we (really me since Andrew doesn't even wake up) could get some rest. She even fed her both nights her middle of the night feeding!

Saturday morning we slept in a little then up and at them again. Andrew went to the flea market and Flordia Gator game so he was gone until 93o that night. Gigi and I took HattieJo for a walk then we had a brunch with some family and friends. This is when HattieJo got to meet Mr. Matthew Feltner (possible future husband). It was a great time to just hang out!

Trip to Florida Part 1

We left on Thursday night after Young Pros and headed to Florida (leaving about 9:30pm)... Then we drove til 1:30 and spent the night in a hotel and got up the next morning and finished the trip. It was so nice being able to break the trip up. When we got down there on Friday we hung out with his parents until about 5 we left and went to Grandpaps house for a party! It was Andrew's mom's side of the family all came to meet HattieJo for the first time. It was so much fun... kind of crazy with all the kids around, but HattieJo was in someone's arms all night long! Here are a few pictures of the night:

Purse Party

Last night our small group had a girls/guys night. The guys went out for wings while the girls had a purse party at my house. Here is how it went down. Everyone brought 2 purses that they didn't want anymore that were in good condition and $5. We played "dirty santa" to choose a new purse to go home with! Then the extra purses I am taking to the local pregnancy support center for them to pass out to the ladies who come there. We took our $5 and each bought 5 "pamper yourself" items at the dollar store to stuff into each purse. It was so much fun! And a great opportunity to serve a local ministry.

We had awards for different purses. Here is a peek at all the purses:

Here are the awards:

*Most Dependable- the BIGGEST purse

*Most Photogenic- the smallest purse

*Most Likely to Succeed- the oldest purse

*Best Dressed- the newest purse

*Most Spirited- most creative purse

*Supurselative- Best All Around purse

Here are the "stuffed" purses we took to PSS:

Rub a dub dub... in the bathtub...

When HattieJo was 3 weeks we tried the big girl bathtub and she WAS NOT a fan of it, so we continued the sponge bathing, but last night we gave it another try and she loved it! She was kicking her legs all around in the water. Here are a few pics of bathtime and then her snuggled in her towel afterwards!

"i think i can... i think i can..."

Well I went for my 6 week dr. appt. on Tuesday and got a great report.. PRAISE THE LORD! I am only 3lbs. over what I was before I got preggo! WOOHOO... This was the day that I had been waiting for since HattieJo arrived, because I knew if I got a good report that I would be able to start working out and running again. So Tuesday night after dinner I went for a run..... Man how your body changes after having a baby added to not running for 9months.. WHEW, it was ROUGH, but I made it back home! Wednesday my body was so sore, so of course I took the day off! haha.. But was back at it on Thurs... it is going to take some time to get back where I was, but my goal is to run the Wake Forest Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day and have the same race time that I did when I ran it last year, so we will see!!!.. Can't wait til HattieJo gets big enough to go in the BOB with me on the runs. Which i think she may be a runner considering when we put her on a blanket on the floor her little legs go ninety miles an hour!

First Day with Mrs. Susan

Another HUGE blessing from the Lord is the lady that is going to be keeping HattieJo when I go back to school, Mrs. Susan. I taught her daughter the first year teaching up here in NC and LOVED her and her family. They are a precious Christian family. They live right across the street from my school too!
So today I had to go to work for teacher workday and so I took HattieJo to spend the morning with them. I talked to her about it yesterday, so she was ready, but mom was not! I dropped her off and she was all smiles and as soon as I got in the car to leave, mind you I was going right across the street, I CRIED LIKE A BABY!!!
She did great though; she took a bottle twice and even took a little nap. I went and got her at lunch time and the greatest thing was when I walked in the room and she heard my voice she turned to me! PRICELESS!
Here is a picture of her with Mrs. Susan:

These two pictures are of HattieJo telling me about her time at Mrs. Susan's:

Tuckered OUT!

This was naptime at the retreat yesterday. She had stayed up too late the night before hanging out with everyone, then we went shopping and to look at some gorgeous outlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I LOVE when she sleeps with her arms like this and check out those lips.. KISSABLE!!!!!!

Summit Young Pros newest addition

Andrew is the Young Professional Pastor at our church and they have a gathering every other Thursday night, so this past Thursday was HattieJo's first time going. She did great.. she was sound asleep the whole time until Andrew got up to speak, she woke up! It was great to have her there since everyone had seen me preggo they were glad to meet her. Then we loaded up with about 40 of them on Friday afternoon to go on a retreat (See next post)
