Community Group Leader Retreat

 So thankful for this group of leaders that the Lord has blessed our church with! This is the group of our community group leaders. We spent the weekend at a mountain house together in the Word, worshipping, hiking, playing, eating, dreaming, and praying great things for this next year at Mercy Hill. The amazing thing is that 2 years ago we took our launch team (30 people) to this same place. It was before we had moved to GSO and we spent the weekend dreaming and praying BIG things for GSO and MH. Last year, we took about 25 people that consisted of our 5 community group leaders, spouses, and then anyone we thought were potential leaders. I remember us praying that weekend that the Lord would double our number of community groups over the next year. We went this November and had 17 community groups leaders and their spouses!!!!!!!! So INCREDIBLE to see how the Lord totally blew our prayers!
So thankful to be a part of His mission! He is a good God!

Love this friend! So thankful that God has placed her in my life to speak truth and to just live life alongside of!

On Veteran's Day, HattieJo had preschool, but my school was out so I thought it would be the perfect time to go and hang out in her classroom. I asked her teacher if I could come and read, so I went first thing that morning! HattieJo had picked the book, "We are Going on a Bear Hunt." Mrs. Pam let HJ introduce me to her class and this is what she said (Oh how I wish I had a video of her sweet self!), "Boys and girls, this is my mommy. Her name is Anna and you can call her Miss Anna. She is a teacher. She is going to read us a book and she is very good at reading books." So then I read and as you can see from the picture(that her preschool teacher snapped) she kept her hand on my shoulder the whole time! When I finished she leaned over to the kids and said, "boys and girls, were you scared? Did you think it was a real bear hunt?"
LOVE LOVE my sweet girl! I really enjoyed seeing her in her school room!

Several weeks ago my mom came in town for the week! It was great having her here. The kids enjoyed spending time with her, especially showing her "their park."

We were down in Florida right after Andrew's bday, so we had a family birthday party! It was so fun! Gigi ordered a big water slide, so the kids (minus AP) had a great time playing in and on it.

.Beauty and the Beast.

Last Sunday I took HJ to see Beauty and the Beast broadway show at the DPAC. We went with my sister and Allison. HJ was so excited about an all girl date...not to mention the fact that she didn't have to take a nap. She was WIDE EYED the entire show. I think I may have watched her expressions more than the show. I love seeing her enjoy something! It worked out great that the next day was show and tell at school and slacker mom here forgot, but she was able to tell all about the show, so it was all good! ha

On Sunday I ran the Bull City Race Fest Half Marathon. It was really a lot of fun. There were 6 of us from Mercy Hill that ran it, so we got a hotel room the night before and had a girls night! Then I got a call at 6:30 Sunday morning from my dad....he was there! He had come to surprise me and cheer me on. I was so thankful! Not to mention we had a delicious date at the Cracker Barrel afterwards.
I had a good run despite the K.I.L.L.E.R. continuous hill that lasted from mile 9-13.1.....it was INSANE! I finished in 1:41, not to shabby!

The other week Andrew was cutting down a tree in our backyard, so the kids and I grabbed a snack and sat on the patio watching!

Tweetsie Railroad (year2)

Last year on Labor Day we went with the Dager family to Tweetsie Railroad and declared that it was going to be a yearly tradition for our families! So we headed out there again this year. Last year in the petting zoo the goat ate a bit of Norah's shirt, this year the animals were super greedy! One cute little baby goat snagged HJ's ice cream cone of feed and took off, however not far behind him was Andrew who grabbed the goat by his back legs to get the ice cream cone of feed! I think our family then became the talk of Tweetsie.
It was such a fun trip. We look forward to many more years of the "Southeast's most overpriced attraction" as Andrew calls it.
