Our friends, the McGees, are adopting from Ethiopia! You can read about that here. They are some of our dear friends here in NC. They have been in our small group since they moved here, Will has served alongside Andrew in the Young Professionals ministry at the Summit. We have loved getting to know them over the past several years. They have LOVED on and cared for HattieJo.. Rebekah is so talented in her sewing and has made HJ several dresses, her birthday decor and outfit for her birthday this year and all of AP's nursery bedding! We LOVE the McGees. They are moving on now...They are headed to Jacksonville, AL to serve a church there. We are so excited for how the Lord will use them, but will miss them for sure! So on Tuesday night, we had a baby shower for baby McGee...

It was also a special night because AP took a bottle for the first time! He had no trouble that is for sure!

Last week Andrew was the camp pastor for high school week at Camp Willow Run(more to come on this next week), he came home on Saturday for a few hours before heading to church to preach the 2 Saturday night services, then woke up on Sunday morning to go back up and preach both services for our Brier Creek South Campus! So he is the preacher man! haha.. Here is the link where you can hear his sermon from Saturday night.

:City Project comes to the farm:

At the Summit each summer, college students can apply to be part of City Project. This is where about 25 college students come and take on an internship at the Summit, take a seminary class, go on 2 mission trips, and participate in other happenings at the Summit. They live together in apartments, so once a week they go to a different pastors house for dinner. They came to ours last week! It was so much fun to have them over and hear about their lives and their passions. Of course HJ had a blast running wild with them. She also had fun playing with her BFF, "Nor, Nor" (Norah) too! We had a delicious BBQ dinner (thank you bobby!!!), played a game called KanJam, and then ended the night with a bonfire.

I had open house at my school that night, so I showed up a bit late for the party.. thankfully my sister was here to be sure things got going!

:1 month:

Where has this past month gone? I can't believe our little man is a month old today! What a great month we have had figuring him out, changing LOTS of diapers, seeing random smiles, watching him grow, seeing him have more and more wake time during the day, watching him follow HJ around a room with his eyes, and so much more! He has moved out of newborn clothes, is wearing size1 diapers (as of yesterday), and is only waking up 2x in the night to feed! His personality is a lot like HJ. He just goes with the flow and cries if he wants to eat. We have been so blessed :)

Daddy, Mommy, and HJ love you so much and have loved every minute with you this past month. We pray you will continue to grow and be healthy. So excited for what this next month holds!

Andrew's sister, Erin, came to visit us last weekend! We were so excited to have her with us for several days. We did miss her 4 boys though. HattieJo couldn't exactly say Erin, so she called her, "eddie." It was quite funny! Erin, is a great photographer, so she took some great pictures of AP while she was here!

On Saturday nights, I lead the First Impressions team for our kids ministry. So during the 2nd service, I usually will recruit my little helper once the service has started! She LOVES to just tag along with me. This particular night, she decided she was going to do some work on the computer.

the day i had been dreading came last Monday night... we had to say goodbye to the eggletons(goodbye, but not goodbye forever!).. they have been our best friends up here.. they lived beside us in WF and we spent LOTS and LOTS of time together... Danielle and I had many a runs and walks with GREAT conversation about life and the Lord. Andrew and Craig rode to work together many days and did lots of dog stuff together. We shared many meals and spent lots of time as families. We are so grateful for them and are excited for them as they follow the Lord's call on their lives to take the Gospel to the nations.
