.daddy day.

So the other Friday was "daddy day"... as every Friday is... When I got to school that day I realized I hadn't laid any clothes out for HattieJo for the day. I always do on daddy day to ensure that she at least gets dressed in a matching outfit! I thought to myself, "surely Andrew can pick her out some clothes for the day, no big deal." So I talk to him a little after lunch and he says they are on their way home from going to Target and stopping by to visit our church's North Raleigh campus. So I asked, "Well, what is HattieJo wearing because I forgot to lay her clothes out." To which he quickly replies, "Oh, just what she had on this morning." My response is "WHAT??????? You mean to tell me that she is still in her redneck souvenir shirt that you bought her in Myrtle Beach and no pants?"..there is a slight pause "Yes she is, you didn't lay any clothes out so I didn't know what to do or where her clothes are." BLESS HIM!!!!!! So my child went all over town like this for the day: She was so stinkin' cute even though she was still in her redneck shirt and diaper! Oh the memories this girl will have of this precious time with her daddy each week. So thankful for my man that loves his little girl!

Gigi and Poppa came up from Florida to help us celebrate:Catching a quick break before getting back up and at it again:"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to HattieJo, Happy Birthday to you!""Where's your tongue?"Up under the yellow table cloth was this:My dad made this from scratch for HattieJo!!!!! I LOVE it.. its so perfect! Be on the look out in the next few days for more pictures of it. Also, under the table cloth was an adorable white rocking chair for HattieJo that matches the "big people" ones that we have! She also got a little red wagon from Gigi and Poppa. She is really enjoying going for a wagon ride to see the dogs each day!It was a FANTASTIC day. What a blessing to have our friends and families there to help us celebrate this gift of life this past year. We are so thankful for our precious little girl! HattieJo was exhausted at the end of the party and took a great nap before we headed out to church that evening!

:1st birthday part 2:

Here are a few pictures of all the party decorations and such. I had such a great time making everything. I had a friend come over one night and we made all the invitations and cupcake toppers. Then I bought some sock monkey fabric off of etsy.com and my friend Rebekah made HattieJo's dress and matching doll. Then I used some leftover fabric to make her birthday hat! Then I made her a birthday banner from the scrapbook paper scraps and the clothesline was all her pictures from each month with her sock monkey!

:1st birthday part 1:

Thursday was HattieJo's 1st birthday. We started the day by singing to her when she woke up then I made us all waffles for breakfast! We all 3 ate together then us girls hit the road for school. After school we came home to play outside and get dinner ready for Uncle Craig, Danielle, and Gideon. I made cream cheese chicken, green beans, black eyed peas, and a french loaf. Then we had cake for dessert! HattieJo was so uneventful with eating her cake. She sat, with her legs crossed, in her high chair and picked at the icing smacking with each bite! haha.. No smashing, no mess, just PURE DAINTINESS! She didn't want to get messy! Then we went for a walk around the fields and just enjoyed being together.

.the atwoods come to visit.

Last Friday night, the Atwoods, came over for dinner. It was so nice to sit down and catch up with them! We love them and are thankful for their friendship! They were our "first friends" when we moved up here. Funny story: The first night we attended a small group, after deciding that we were going to go the Summit, the small group in our area met at their house. So we showed up and were the first ones there... AWKWARD! But nevertheless, we survived and became fast friends. We would have "Saturday Night at the Atwoods" until they moved to Durham (insert sad face). We miss spending time with them, but treasure the times when we are able to do so! After dinner, Andrew took the boys out on the 4wheeler and they loved it! It was so cute to watch them ride.HattieJo got a little jealous of not getting to ride, so she got to sit on it for a picture!
