"It says NO strollers..."

That was the quote of the night tonight! haha.. Here is the story:
We went to the mall for a Chickfila dinner (thanks to the gift card from the Bennetts) and then our agenda was to find; work boots, camoflauge hat, and sunglasses for Andrew. He was going to spend his birthday money! We found the boots at Sears, but needed to go across the street to Dicks to look for the rest. So off we went. All the hunting gear is upstairs, so we proceeded to get on the escalator to get there, as we approach the top of the escalator there is a CHUBBY little boy standing right in the way saying, "it says NO STROLLERS, it says NO STROLLERS, (repeat, repeat, repeat) as he stares straight at us! hahaha... We were dying laughing, as we tried to get off the escalator (he was in the way) we realized why the sign really did show "NO STROLLERS" because we all got a little tripped up! Then about 10 minutes later we saw the kid again and he looked right at me and said, "it said no strollers..." So we decided it best to take the elevator back downstairs. Bless the little chubby kids heart, he was just looking out for us.

Happy 1 month Birthday!

HattieJo,
I can't believe you have been here for one month already! You have changed our lives FOREVER! We are so thankful for you. You don't know how long we prayed for you and now you are here living life with us.
You are so alert now and are recognizing our voices. You have moved from sleeping in your newborn bed to the "big" part of your pack 'n play. You are starting to sleep more at night..WHEW! You have even outgrown some of your clothes already. For the first time this week you took a bottle-you guzzled it like a champ!
We love you!
Mommy and Daddy

WHEW- What a day!

Yesterday HattieJo and I went shopping with "Aunt D"(our neighbor Danielle).. We went to Babies R Us, Old Navy, and Sonic happy hour! I was so excited about being able to go spend my birthday money on some new clothes and then buying some stuff for HattieJo! So off we went, she was WIDE awake when we started, then quickly went to sleep and slept through her whole first shopping experience. By the way, Old Navy had stirrup pants for sale- can we say 80's!
Last night for dinner we went to Red Robin to celebrate Andrew's birthday. I went TOTALLY prepared (in the POURING rain) with diaper bag stocked and a bottle, just in case. She was awake when we got there and looked all around then went to sleep. I forgot my camera so we had to use Andrew's phone.. but here she is with "Red"..

While we were eating a worker came out to deliver a dessert to another table, but stopped at ours and said (and I quote), "I just gotta walk away, I am going to cry, that baby is just precious.." HAHAHA!.. Red Robin's finest I guess!

Happy Birthday to you...

Happy Birthday to you..
Happy Birthday to Daddy...
Happy Birthday to you!
Daddy,
I hope you have a great birthday. Thank you for always giving me big kisses and for changing my diapers! You are the best!
I LOVE YOU-
HattieJo
*Last night we took HattieJo's newborn sleeper piece out of the pack 'n play and put her wedge in-unfortunately, she DID NOT like it, so she and I slept in the living room (me on the couch, her in her bouncy seat)... So for this mornings nap I put her in the pack 'n play on the wedge and she has been knockin' it out for 3 hours! Let's hope she will again tonight!.. She manages to wiggle herself all the way down the thing...

"Going to the chapel..." Not to get married!

(as you can see in the above picture, she is SO ALERT these days!)
Last night was HattieJo's first Summit experience outside of the womb! She did great, she slept right through worship, not sure how... then she decided when J.D. began to preach that she needed a diaper change and needed to eat, so off we went to Andrew's office to take care of business. Needless to say we missed the sermon.. maybe next week we will be in there for it! She did great though and looked ADORABLE in her new outfit. Here is a picture of her before we left. She is even waving to all her family in Florida and SC telling them hello!!!

Outing

This is HattieJo after our outing today! When Andrew got home we went to Sonic, Target, and Tractor Supply. She was wide awake as we started the adventure, then quickly fell asleep. So this is how she ended up once we got home. PRECIOUS!

Walking with BOB

BOB= The BEST stroller EVER!

We went on our first walk as a family last night! It was so fun, everything I was hoping for... What a blessing HattieJo is to us. We are so thankful for how the Lord has blessed us! It's crazy to think there were many a walks when we talked about having a family, of pushing a stroller, etc. Don't worry I didn't walk the dog too, just was holding her while Andrew captured our photo! HattieJo and I went again this morning since Daddy was at work, she was looking around taking it all in the whole time.

Wordless Wednesday- (except I am going to use some words!)

Thats right folks she is 2 weeks old! CRAZY!
We had a dr. appointment this afternoon and she was 7lbs. 10.5 oz. and 21 inches long.
She is growing great and the dr. said she looked very healthy. We are so thankful for a good report!
While we were there she rolled from her back to her stomach on the exam table.

Gigi and Papa came to visit

Gigi and Papa came to visit us this past week. They came last Saturday and then left yesterday. We had a great time with them. Papa helped Andrew with the "dog farm" and Gigi did lots of stuff to help me around the house! HattieJo had a great time doing her morning stretches with Gigi! It was great to have them up with us. Gigi kept saying that she was going to take HattieJo home with her, so I had to keep a close eye on my girl when they got ready to leave :o)
Gigi and Papa, HattieJo already misses you guys! See you soon. Love yall

One Week Old

Yesterday HattieJo was one week old. Its crazy how fast this week has gone by. We can't imagine our life with out her. She is precious and is such a great baby. She is strong too! She loves to kick her legs all around (if her daddy hasn't swaddled her too tightly!). She is picking up her head and moves it to follow our voices. Yes that is a bulldog on her outfit...

Here she is getting her first manicure!

I think she is doing some yoga poses! I think this is how she was in the womb, the only way she would have fit I think!

The Nursery

Here are a few pictures of her nursery!!!

Doctor Visit

We were released from the hospital on Friday around noon (yeah they kicked us out so they wouldn't have to feed us lunch)... It was so crazy getting in the car with a baby that we were to take home and take care of ourselves... I have to say that I was quite nervous, but excited. Its one of those feelings of your not just being a kid and "playing house," its the REAL DEAL..
We made it home...
On Saturday we had to go to the dr. for them to check her weight. On Thursday night she weighed 6lbs. 14 oz. so they wanted to be sure she wasn't losing more weight. On Saturday she weighed 6lbs. 12 oz. so she had lost a little weight and they told us to come back on Monday for them to check her again.. Well our little chunky monkey was back up to her birth weight of 7lbs. 3oz.... thats right the girl knows how to eat! haha...
Here is a picture of us before we left for the doctors office.
